OUR ORIGIN
Ritual Clay was born from a seemingly insignificant day.
One spent meandering the streets of San Francisco with a beloved friend, unearthing hidden treasures and laughing over copious cups of coffee.
It was the kind of day that feels inconsequential at the time because it is so ‘everyday’. It is only on looking back that you realise it was filled with priceless seconds, minutes and hours you won’t ever get back. Often, it’s not until you reflect on moments past that you realise how precious time on this planet is. Yet, every moment of your day is brimming with possibility – and through ritual you can turn the everyday into something deeply enriching.
Our curated, handcrafted collections are an ode to the cycle of life, death and rebirth. They’re a sanctuary for your soul and a vessel of presence. They’re also just sexy receptacles for your morning coffee.

And as a small business with unwavering values, you can rest assured that each aspect of your Ritual Clay experience is carefully considered. At every step we take the most ethical, sustainable and low impact path available to us.
As our practices stand, we save and recycle all the offcuts and clay water, have said ‘no thanks’ to plastic entirely in our packaging (we're working with our suppliers to reduce theirs) and package everything up in biodegradable and recyclable materials to be mailed off. We’re deeply committed to being part of the solution not the problem and are always looking out for ways we can make smarter, better and more sustainable choices.

Melbourne born ceramics artist
Claire was once told by an astrologer to walk around with rocks in her pockets. Instead, she found ceramics. Working directly with the earth is about as grounding as it gets for an air sign. And the humbling experience of throwing on the wheel continues to help her heal her inner perfectionist. Claire is a dedicated minimalist who believes in cherishing beautiful physical objects in a thoughtful, minimal way.
One foot in the unseen world
A seeker of truth and wisdom, Claire has immersed herself in numerous spiritual communities around the world. With a special curiosity in sexuality, death and rebirth, she has explored Tibetan Buddhism, nature-based spirituality, paganism, Druidry, Western occultism and tantric ritual practices. A certified Death Doula and Embodiment Teacher, Claire takes a simultaneously reverent and irreverent approach to magical practice and initiation.
After experiences with dogmatic spiritual teachers guiding followers away from their power, Claire is passionate about encouraging people to connect to their own magic. With Ritual Clay, Claire brings her creative spirit and passion for ritual, initiation and practical magic together with her reverence for beauty.
Over the last decade she has coordinated death rituals, shadow weddings, feminine initiations, relationship rites of passage, tantric rituals and element rituals. She encourages those she works with to dive deep without becoming consumed by solemnity. Through her magic-infused pieces, she hopes to encourage those curious about the unseen world to playfully engage with it.
